Synthesis of Fe3O4/SiO2/NiO magnetic composite: Evaluation of its catalytic activity for methylene blue degradation

<p>Photocatalytic degradation for wastewater treatment is a method that has recently attracted attention. In this research, synthesized composite of Fe3O4/SiO2/NiO with magnetic properties was used the photocatalytic methylene blue dye under UV light. Furthermore, composites were characterized using XRD, FTIR, BET surface area, SEM-EDS, VSM, and UV-DRS. The results showed saturation magnetization 53.84 emu/g. area 128.8 m2/g, large than Fe3O4 Fe3O/SiO2. band gap 2.83 eV. activity against exhibited high efficiency reaching 98.51 %. pseudo-first-order appropriate to describe kinetics model on dye. decrease in after 5 times from 98.02 % 94.97 indicates catalyst stability. Considering these results, could be as potential industrial wastewater.</p>
